Edudig: A Social Bookmarking Site for Teachers
Obviously inspired by Digg, the social bookmarking site started in America, Edudig is the Chinese version for teachers. It will be interesting to see if teachers find this useful and if they have time to participate. From working in high school in Beijing, teachers barely had time to even talk to each other. Therefore a site like this can be very helpful, but it also requires time to share. Another problem in a lot of the top high schools was that their internet was actually undependable - that many teachers told me it was a waste of their time to go online at school. Their internet connection at home was more reliable, but by the time they get home they have to cook, eat, take care of their kids and etc.
Thank you to China Web 2.0 Review for the post on the review of the 2006 Chinese Blogger Conference - where I found info on Edudig.
